EMC’s EV WEEK IN OTTAWA

This week, EMC staff and members traveled to Ottawa to advocate for federal policies that promote predictability in the Canadian EV market.

On October 22, we conducted over 30 meetings with elected officials from the Liberal, Conservative, and Bloc Québécois parties. Our discussions focused on the critical role of market predictability in boosting EV adoption and how supporting electric mobility can drive innovation in Canada’s economy.

In the evening, we hosted a networking event on Parliament Hill, bringing together EMC members and elected officials to discuss the electrification of transportation. The day was a great success, and we look forward to collaborating with our members and elected officials to achieve Canada’s goal of 100% ZEV sales by 2035.

On October 23, EMC industry members and federal bureaucrats gathered for a breakfast meeting to share ideas on successfully transitioning to an EV industry. An expert panel featured insights from Daniel Breton, President & CEO of EMC; Audrey Dépault, Senior Policy Advisor at Tesla; and Andrew Harkness, Director of Dealer Network, Electrification & Corporate Strategy at Nissan Canada. The panel was moderated by Lorne Johnson, Vice President at the Ivey Foundation.

Thank you to all EMC members who participated in this week’s events!
