EMC Welcomes Quebec’s Higher 2030 Target for ZEV adoption

April 21, 2023

EMC applauds the Quebec government’s decision to significantly increase its 2030 zero-emission vehicle registration target
April 21, 2023 – Electric Mobility Canada (EMC) applauds the Quebec government’s decision to significantly increase its 2030 zero-emission vehicle registration target, as announced today by Minister of the Environment, the Fight against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks and the Minister responsible for the Laurentians region, Benoit Charette, during the Montreal EV show at the Olympic Stadium.
As committed to under the Plan for a Green Economy 2030, the Government of Quebec aims to raise the requirements of its zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) standard. The planned regulatory changes will ensure that two million electric cars will be on Quebec’s roads by 2030, an increase of 400,000 vehicles compared to the current government target.
“Electric Mobility Canada is pleased to see this leadership and we look forward to working with the Government of Quebec to help reach this ambitious new target by ensuring the best policies, regulations and incentives are in place to boost EV adoption,” said Daniel Breton, EMC’s president and CEO.
