EMC statement on Canada–Germany Joint Declaration

February 24, 2026

February 24, 2026

Electric Mobility Canada (EMC) welcomes today’s announcement by Minister Mélanie Joly and German Minister Katherina Reiche to deepen bilateral cooperation in key industrial sectors, including electric mobility, batteries, and critical minerals. Strengthened collaboration between Canada and Germany sends an encouraging signal to industry at a time when global supply chains and clean technology ecosystems are rapidly evolving.

As Canada continues to build out a competitive, resilient EV and battery supply chain, partnerships with like‑minded countries are essential. This joint declaration supports greater market opportunities for Canadian companies, increased technology exchange, and long‑term stability for the broader mobility sector.

We look forward to continued dialogue with government and industry partners as Canada and Germany work together to advance clean transportation, enhance energy security, and create sustainable economic growth.
