Electric Mobility Canada (EMC) strongly denounces President Trump’s auto tariffs, which will have serious consequences for Canadian and American consumers, workers, and manufacturers. These tariffs threaten supply chains, raise costs, and undermine the long-standing economic partnership between Canada and the United States. 

Until recently, the U.S. was a trusted trade partner, working alongside Canada to build a strong and integrated EV industry. EMC remains committed to working with unions, industry leaders and elected officials to develop a resilient economic plan that secures Canada’s EV future. 

This moment presents an opportunity to strengthen Canada’s leadership in the EV sector, fostering innovation, investment, and to secure jobs that cannot be relocated to the U.S. EMC will continue to advocate for policies that support a thriving, competitive, and sustainable EV industry in Canada.
