Opportunity: Conference Consultant

EMC is seeking a Conference Consultant
Contract Length: 8+ weeks
Ideal start date: August 22, 2022 

Electric Mobility Canada is a national membership-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of electric mobility as an exciting opportunity to fight climate change and air pollution while supporting the Canadian economy.

We are looking for an event planning consultant to take the lead on the event planning and logistics for our annual conference, EVVE2022 taking place in Toronto at the Beanfield Centre on September 27 to 29. We are expecting 300 attendees to join us for sessions, discussion groups, tabletop exhibits, plenary sessions with VIPs See the program and events on our conference for more information: https://evve.emc-mec.ca

  • 8- week contract ideally starting on August 22 with possibility to extend
  • virtual, home office based anywhere in Canada with expectation to be on site in Toronto September 26-29
  • bilingual English and French strongly recommended
  • ideally suitable for someone accustomed to working remotely and independently at mid to senior responsibility for event logistics and event planning
  • project renumeration: $10,000

Responsibilities

a) Event Logistics
i. Marketing and promotions of conference
ii. Sponsorship fulfilment and tracking
iii. Support educational program speakers and related logistics (speaker follow up)
iv. Speaker/moderator preparation meetings and inquiries
v. Coordinate marketing and web content and the translations as needed
vi. Coordination of graphics, visuals and PowerPoints
vii. on-site trouble shooting
viii. liaising with outside event and technical contractors (e.g. online registration system, conference venues, hotels, display contractors, catering services, Audio-visual companies, etc)
ix. Ensuring contracts are respected with aforementioned vendors

b) Event Marketing and Communications
i. social media content and activities to promote the conference
ii. preparation of website content, positioning, and updates as related to events
iii. support on-site social content
