Self-driving electric shuttle by Keolis Canada
Keolis Canada and the City of Candian announced the arrival of a self-driving electric shuttle. The pilot project has been led by Keolis Canada and the City of Candiac with financial support from the Government of Quebec and in partnership with Propulsion Québec and Technopôle IVÉO. This is the first ever long-term demonstration of a fully electric autonomous shuttle on a public road in Canada.
The pilot project will take place over a 12-month period, including 8 months of service during which citizens will be able to travel aboard the shuttle for free. The NAVYA shuttle will run in Candiac with the objective of offering transport for the first and the last kilometers of a specific route to the benefit of the public. On top of this, the service will allow employees working in the area to reach their workplace from the bus terminal.
