Electric Mobility Canada hoping to collaborate with Premier Ford in advancing electromobility in Ontario

Electric Mobility Canada (EMC) would like to congratulate The Honourable Doug Ford on his recent re-election as the Premier of Ontario. We look forward to the opportunity of working with Mr. Ford in building the provincial economy through electric vehicle (EV) innovation.

“In Premier Ford’s second term as Premier, EMC would love to see Ontario flourish as a leader in the EV space. The B.C. and Quebec governments have both stepped up to the plate when it comes to electromobility, and we hope to see the same with Ontario”, stated Daniel Breton, President & CEO of EMC.

With recent announcements like those from GM and Stellantis, both supported by the Ford government, the groundwork has already begun to propel the province into EV leadership, but much work remains. EMC invites Premier Ford to review EMC’s pre-election policy recommendations. These recommendations are in line with those in EMC’s 2030 EV Action Plan – an industry-led project that includes policy recommendations to help Canada reach 100% passenger EV sales by 2030, and 100% electric medium-, heavy-duty and off-road vehicle sales by 2040.

“Ontario’s future is bright. With a rich history of auto manufacturing, it has the chance to flourish by making EVs the norm, and thereby boosting the province’s economy and creating jobs while clearing the air of toxic pollutants,” said Mr. Breton. “EMC will be there every step of the way to support Premier Ford in Ontario’s transition to electromobility.”
