Vancouver, British Columbia: Sun Country Highway recently acquired North of 49 and recruited its principal, Jim Perkins. Sun Country Highway’s mission is to create the world’s most economic, social and environmental transportation solution, through adding the best electric vehicle fleet solutions in the industry. This new move allows Sun Country Highway to expand its depth into the fleet industry. Most recently, Jim was the Principal at North of 49 Consulting and the Superintendent of Fleet Services at Metro Vancouver. Jim’s business related activities include active membership at NAFA Western Canada Chapter Board of Directors, CAFM Professional Certification Instructor, and committee involvement at both Electric Mobility Canada and the British Columbia Institute for Technology.
Jim is a CAFM certified fleet manager and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer by trade. A recognized leader in sustainability, emissions, and the environmental impact of transportation, Jim has honed his fleet and operational leadership skills – ready for his next challenge. For the past 30 years, Jim has gained invaluable experience as a franchise owner, service manager, and public service fleet manager. Jim has been a guest speaker both nationally and internationally including speaking engagements at Fleet Challenge Ontario, Federation of Canadian Municipalities, NAFA, and Electric Mobility Canada. Jim’s passion for electric transportation and sustainable fleet options, aligns closely with Sun Country Highway’s vision for a more sustainable future.
