Federal Advocacy - Past Activities

Electric Mobility Canada regularly submits documents to the federal government in order to accelerate transport electrification in Canada. These include memoirs to parliamentary commissions, submissions to Canada’s Standing Committee on Finance, and others.

  • Representation before the Standing committee on Finance (2017)

Electric Mobility Canada presented its recommendations for the 2018 federal budget to raise awareness and reduce the cost of ownership. EMC is pleased with the excellent report of  that has just been made public. For the first time, the report contains a section dedicated to electric vehicles, and EMC’s recommendations are clearly quoted and very well explained. EMC will continue its representation activities until the presentation of the 2018 federal budget.

  • Smart City Challenge

Objective: Invite cities across Canada to develop Smart Cities Plans, together with local governments, citizens, businesses and civil society. It is supported by $300 million over 11 years with investments in public transit, green infrastructure, and social infrastructure.
